Since Canon introduced its mirrorless cameras and lenses, the company has been trying to expand and experiment. So far, we have over 40 lenses, which includes primes and zooms, and many of which have also received immense applause. However, it appears that Canon wants to grow more, with a new patent showcasing three distinct telephoto options that will be liked by wildlife and bird photographers.

Kodak Tri-X 400 vs Kodak TMax 400: Which is Better?

Kodak Tri-X 400 vs Kodak TMax 400: Which is Better?

For a number of years, Kodak Tri-X has often been the single most talked about black and white film on the market. Fujifilm Acros is barely mentioned, and even Kodak's own TMax 400 isn't heavily spoken about. Lots of photographers tend to like one film over the other, but they're both very capable of producing great results. With that said, it can sometimes be pretty simple to tell the differences apart from the two.Kodak Tri-x for years was alongside photojournalists due to its versatility and its specific look that tends to work more with the midtones than the highlights and shadows. But as the years progressed, more photographers started using it in the studio too. Students enjoyed it for its forgiving nature. TMax, on the other hand, was typically marketed as being the finest grain 400 film on the market--which is stereotypically a look that is valued by landscape photographers, studio photographers, etc. Or at least that's what you'd think, right?

Before writing this article, I had to look back on the Phoblographer's Nikon Zf review. Since its publishing in December 2023, we've updated the review a total of 13 times so far. And today, we're announcing the 14th update. Most importantly, I'm letting everyone know what all the influencers and YouTubers aren't talking about: there's a weird firmware/mechanical problem with this camera that no other Nikon camera has. And to really make people aware of it, within the next month or so, the review will be updated by two other members of the Phoblographer's Review team.

The APS-C market has seen some shift. While full frame cameras continue to reign, in more recent years, with the rising prices, APS-C models are finding their footing again. Sure, people need extra megapixels, but with the right lens, an APS-C camera can do wonders. Canon has created some exemplary models that have been overshadowed by full-frame siblings, and today, we pay homage to one such model.

Photography contests are often the best way to get some recognition for your work, and to compete with other professionals on an international level. While many image-makers continue to participate in hopes of winning, there have been instances in recent years when their hard work has been overshadowed due to AI images. In a new contest organized by Tokina, the giant in the lens market, has made photographers furious again over an image that was allegedly made by AI.

Throwback: Using the Fujifilm GFX 50S for Studio Portrait Photography

Throwback: Using the Fujifilm GFX 50S for Studio Portrait Photography

The Fujifilm GFX 50s is the apple of many a photographer's eye, as it surely should be. It's one of the first affordable medium format camera systems to hit the market that offers the benefits of a mirrorless camera system with the image quality of that of higher end formats. Of course, the case with medium format cameras is that they've always been very popular in the studio. Part of this traditionally has to do with slow autofocus, thinner depth of field, and the relatively slower lenses in comparison to 35mm small format. Though with Fujifilm's GFX 50s, that seems to be changing.

Read Us Often? Help Us Out!

It's really affordable to help Phoblographer out. We're one of the only publications working to help you make images that AI can't really create. In 2025, I started to do things that otherwise would seem crazy for a publisher of a niche photography online magazine to do. For starters, this year, the Phoblographer may actually make a printed magazine again. But in addition to that, we didn't sell any ads to the big camera manufacturers. It really showed me that if everyone even gave $1 to read FOR THE YEAR, we'd make enough money to be able to grow and sustain the site for a very, very long time. But that's really tough to ask. Eventually, I'd like to site to move away from needing and relying on banner-ads. Instead, I want the site to go fully super-affordable subscription eventually.
