By Chris Gampat
January 16, 2026
On November 27th, 2019, I bought the Fujifilm X Pro 3 in Dura Silver from Adorama for $1,999.95. Back then, I called it a GOAT of a camera. A few years ago, I finally ended up giving it away to my best friend as a long-term loaner because Fujifilm refused to do any major firmware updates to the camera -- essentially enshitifying their own brand in many ways. And just yesterday, Reviews Editor Alberto Lima and I were randomly looking at cameras and what they've sold for on the used market. What we found shocked us both.

When it comes to 50mm lenses, we're usually used to hearing about the fast ones being the f1.8 and even f1.4 lenses. The f1.2 ones are often the most coveted ones, but they're usually chunky and expensive. If you are a professional photographer seeking a camera that delivers the best possible clarity, here are two devices from the company that will do the job for you.

The Myth of the Unedited Photograph
By Nilofer Khan
January 15, 2026
A recent thread on Reddit's r/photography reignites the debate of what makes a "good image." The idea that photography can capture reality as it is is a myth that many young photographers consistently feed on. And the thread showcases how little people know that, like any other medium, a photograph is about composition and observation, but is also as much about how visible, accessible, and contested editing has become.

Ricoh is one of the few APS-C cameras that remain ideal for street photographers. The company launched the Ricoh GR IV last year, a much-awaited update to the popular GR III. It now appears that the company is finally taking the updates a step further with the launch of a new GR Monochrom, a camera that eliminates the color sensor to focus on black and white tonality. Here is a look at what it offers.

Will Photography Be Relevant by 2050?
By Nilofer Khan
January 15, 2026
With the explosion of artificial intelligence (AI), one is often left to wonder about the future of photography and where it is headed. While at the moment it seems quite dark, as AI is now the main focus of many businesses, it certainly will not be the case by 2050. In fact, the possibility of images aiding us in being tethered to reality seems like a far more plausible outcome. And that's because of one major difference, which proves AI simply can't be what we want it to be -- a conscious machine.
