What is the Best Film Camera?

By Chris Gampat

October 7, 2025

Of any online photography publication currently around, we've been reviewing film cameras and film emulsions for the longest. And a while ago, I was wondering to myself what the best film camera is. I remember reading a special thread on Reddit about the Leica M6 vs the Nikon F3. It was such a profound thread that I emailed it to myself and constantly snoozed the email to write about it later after I had my truest thoughts come to me. Time has shown us that both of these cameras will far outlast anything that digital photographers use. So what is the best film camera?

Panasonic S9 vs Nikon Zf: Which One is the Best for Travel Photos?

By Nilofer Khan

October 7, 2025

Travel photographers often require a compact device that meets their needs. This means you can change lenses, get a higher megapixel sensor, and enjoy all the other benefits inside a compact body. Nikon and Panasonic are not the names you will hear often for travel photographers. That's because Panasonic manufactures hybrid devices, and Nikon's full-frame cameras are larger than compact devices. But with the launch of Panasonic S9 and Nikon Zf, that changed. Today, we let them battle it out to see which one you should go for.

The Best Tamron Lens No One Talks About. And Why

By Chris Gampat

October 6, 2025

In January of 2020, I published our Tamron 35mm f1.4 lens review. This lens is perhaps one of the absolute most unfortunate launches that I've ever seen in my career. It was a lens designed to be used with DSLRs -- specifically Canon EF and Nikon F mounts. And honestly, it outperformed so many other 35mm f1.4 lenses on the market at the time. Believe me, I review tons of lenses and I'd still make a claim that the Phoblographer has reviewed the most lenses of any standing publication. Our industry is now at a point where when I get a lens in for review I'd say somethjing like, "Well, it's a lens and it does its job." But the Tamron 35mm f1.4 wasn't just any lens.

One of the Coolest Cameras of 2025 Has Been Delayed

By Chris Gampat

October 6, 2025

2025 has been a really great year for point and shoot cameras so far. Sure, there have been a few higher end cameras that people look at and drool because of what it can do. The Japanese manufacturers haven't been able to really keep up, and so there have been newer companies popping up to do the job. And one of the most hotly anticipated cameras, the Echolens, has been delayed. But why?
