I didn’t realize how much I’d like the Leica M EV1. But before typing this statement, I caught myself holding the camera and sitting with it just because I liked the way it feels in my hand. I don’t see this kind of excitement that often anymore as an adult with no partner nor children. But to feel it is a whole other thing. In many ways the Leica M EV1 feels like it answers several requests that I’ve asked for for years. And in other ways, it feels like Leica is afraid of embracing the fact that they can change with age while still maintaining their identity.
