Lensbaby Twist 28 Review: The Squint and Shoot Experience
by Chris Gampat
February 26, 2026
There's something that's always so appealing about Lensbaby products. Sometimes its the fact that they're embracing metal in their build quality. At other times, it's their unapologetic slap in the face to traditional standards of photography. And with the new Lensbaby Twist 28, we're seeing that Lensbaby is still who they really are. This new lens creates the Petzval look in a low-contrast way while making sharpness and critical focus something very tough to achieve. Essentially, this lens is basically how I see the world to a point. Nothing is ever really sharp. And if you’re sitting there squinting at your screen trying to find what’s in focus, I say this: same. That’s literally how I go through life. If anything, the Lensbaby Twist 28 is a challenge to a mindset that the camera should do all the work for us very quickly. So if you've been working to slow down brain rot brought on by short form video and content scrolling, you may want to consider the Lensbaby Twist 28.

by Nilofer Khan
February 26, 2026
Sigma has multiple lenses under its portfolio for full frame cameras. However, while they have been working on various focal ranges, they have also been targeting maximum aperture for low-light photographers. For instance, the company recently introduced the 35mm f1.2 and 50mm f1.2, and it appears the trio is not yet complete. Per reports, Sigma is now officially developing the last of the lot: 85mm f1.2 DG | Art. Here's a look at what to expect.

Low light photography is now a part of many other genres, such as street, portrait, photojournalism, and event photography. While most photographers focus on getting a camera that offers higher megapixels, it is also important to consider devices that deliver this alongside good high ISO performance. Today, we take a look at the cameras that can achieve the best of both worlds.

Is the Valoi easy35 v2 Film Scanner the Best One There Is?
by Feroz Khan
February 26, 2026
Last year, we tested out the original Valoi easy35 from the folks at Kamerastore, aka Kameratori, in Finland. The product was so intuitive to use that we rated it among the most convenient ways to scan 35mm film negatives and slides. Now the team at Valoi is back with an upgrade - the easy35 v2, which appears to be a complete redesign with mostly new components.

Zeiss Otus 85mm f1.4 ML Review: 5 Reasons Why This Could Be Your Worst Purchase
by Chris Gampat
February 25, 2026
I’m going to say this right off the bat: the Zeiss 85mm f1.4 ML Otus is the single most uninspiring lens that I’ve used in many years. And every single review done by influencers and YouTubers probably are all done by someone who is so star-struck to feel validated. I say this as being one of the only long-time journalists to champion manual focus lenses over others. Beyond that, I've tested the original Zeiss 85mm f1.8 Otus, the Batis, and the Milvus. To that end, I can speak with experience and say that this lens will only get in the way of your photography experience -- therefore enshitifying it. What's more, Zeiss's long term reliability can't be trusted.

February 25, 2026
At CP+ 2026, Brightin Star is announcing two really fascinating pieces of glass. For the Leica M mount, they're announcing a new 35mm f1.7 APO lens. Then, for full-frame mirrorless camera mounts, they're offering up the new 50mm f2 Tri-Sight lens; which is something that we typically only see from brands like Lomography and Lensbaby. The last time we tested lenses from them was a collaboration they did with Funleader. We're also currently using their 35mm f2 APO and loving it a whole lot.

The Best Nikon Cameras for Birding At All Budgets
by Nilofer Khan
February 25, 2026
Nikon mirrorless cameras have changed the way we think of the company. Their DSLR range was great, but the initial years of the company in the mirrorless field were far from exciting. Despite the trials and errors, Nikon managed to win over its audience with the launch of a few models, including the much-loved Zf. Today, we take a look at cameras that are perfect for bird photography, a genre that certainly has its own challenges.

Adrienne Salinger Gives Us a Look Into America’s Teenage Past
by Chris Gampat
February 25, 2026
It takes a whole lot of courage to work on a long term project. That's been the truth for a very, very long time. And Adrienne Salinger: Teenagers in Their Bedrooms is a book that shows us how a long-term commitment to yourself can blossom into something truly beautiful when you're kind to those actively involved in your project. This book should be an inspiring life goal for every photographer out there who thinks that they can only make it if they're shooting images for social media and content creation. Most importantly, it's a strong reminder that not everything is content.
