by Nilofer Khan
July 10, 2026
Nikon has created some wonderful APS-C cameras over the years. The company's D7000 series, the D3000 series, and the D500 are some innovations that have benefited beginners and serious enthusiasts. It now seems that Nikon is keen on introducing a new camera that can help those who want performance at a decent price.

Want a Discount to Capture One? We’ve Got It!
by Chris Gampat
July 10, 2026
In 2025, I started to do things that otherwise would seem crazy for a publisher of a niche photography online magazine to do. For starters, this year, the Phoblographer may actually make a printed magazine again. But in addition to that, we didn't sell any ads to the big camera manufacturers. It really showed me that if everyone even gave $1 to read FOR THE YEAR, we'd make enough money to be able to grow and sustain the site for a very, very long time. But that's really tough to ask. Eventually, I'd like to site to move away from needing and relying on banner-ads. Instead, I want the site to go fully super-affordable subscription eventually.

Polaroid’s Anti-AI Ads Cover Up a Dark Secret
by Chris Gampat
July 10, 2026
Recently, Creative Bloq published an article about how Polaroid is taking a stab at AI. They're doing this with several printed billboard campaigns in big cities. "Taking a stand against over-digitisation, Polaroid's campaign centres around a large billboard situated on Coney Island beach, reading 'Go jump in some water before the data centers drink it all up'." the article states. "With its handwritten-style font and candid Polaroid snap, the design has a signature human warmth that counteracts its subtly foreboding message." Yet the article also really covers up how Polaroid has directly assisted with the robbery of a photographer's rights.

Nik Collection 9 Review: Is it Any Good in 2026?
by Feroz Khan
July 9, 2026
It's been some years since I used any of the software from the Nik Collection suite. Nearly a decade I'd say. Their U-point technology was one of the most precise editing systems I'd seen back then, and I was often in awe of their color replacement tech. But my editing style changed and Nik and I parted ways about a decade ago. During this time, the company owning them changed at least once. When the most recent upgrade, the Nik Collection 9 was announced, my interest piqued and I reached out to the new owners DxO Labs to try the suite out.

TTArtisan 17mm f4 Tilt Shift Review: The Toughest Lens I’ve Used
by Chris Gampat
July 9, 2026
I'm currently writing this review the weekend after the 4th of July here in America -- and I'm ultimately struggling to write this review. Why? It's not at all because of festivities; in fact, I've pretty much gone full straight edge. Instead, it's for the same reason that it took me so long to write this review in the first place. I got this lens in May and I'm writing the review in June. And it's ultimately because the TTArtisan 17mm f4 Tilt Shift lens is one of the most complex and annoying tilt-shift lenses that I've ever used. Perhaps this is justified as it's also by far the most affordable. The company made a great lens and then took away some of the best parts of the tactile pleasures of a tilt-shift lens.

Our Photojournalism Presets Work Great for Sports!
by Chris Gampat
July 9, 2026
Recently, I was testing out our Photojournalism presets for sports photography, and loved how they looked. On the staff, we tend to rotate through a variety of presets. If you use Lightroom or Capture One, you'll want to see what our presets can do for you. Not only are they affordable, but they're specially designed to make images in a variety of both studio and natural lighting scenes stand out. This works for street photography, landscapes, portraits, etc.

Fujifilm’s Forgotten Camera
by Chris Gampat
July 9, 2026
A while back, I moved away from Fujifilm cameras and gear after being a pretty die-hard Fuji lover for over a decade. Their treatment of the X Pro 3 and their newfound fascination with content creators made me feel like they've been leaving photographers in the dust. It's part of why I even created the 5 Boro Foto Fest coming later this year. And with the Fujifilm GFX100RF, I still feel that to be the case.
